- Meta Title – A meta title is a text displayed on browser tabs and search engine result pages that indicate the web page topic. A meta title is a crucial HTML element for site optimization. It’s not the web page headline but acts as a name tag for the page. Therefore, a meta title is also sometimes referred to as “page title,” “title,” or “title tag.”
- Meta Tags – A meta tag is used to help search engines understand a webpage’s content by including a list of keywords. Include multiple tags by creating a comma delimited list. Example: music, singing, acoustic
- Meta Description – Think of your meta description as the virtual storefront for your event page. Just like a window display entices shoppers, a well-crafted meta description can make all the difference in attracting clicks within search results. It’s that tiny snippet of text that appears under the page title in search engine results and it has immense power.
Publish
- Scroll to the top of the page and click Publish to enter the Event Tags and Publish your event
- Event Tags – Use event tags to create spotlights on your event page. For instance, if you wanted to create a speakers section and list photos and links to all of the speakers at your event OR if you wanted to create a sponsors section and list all of your sponsors, you would use event tags to accomplish this. For detailed instructions on using event tags, visit Using Event Tags to Create Spotlight Sections on Your Event Page.
- Click Publish Event to submit your event for review. If you have not completed an event organiser agreement which outlines the fees charged by GeekTickets for the use of the ticketing platform, reach out to a member of our team to get an agreement sent out to you for signature. Clicking publish does not make your event live on the GeekTickets site, it simply puts the event in the review queue. Events typically are reviewed within 30 minutes of publishing. If you would like for a team member to review your event immediately, call us at 065 671 5029.
